Oof. I'll spare you the wind news, but we were happy to pull into Carcassonne for a rest day! And what a lovely surprise Carcassonne is...
Just a few sights along the road today. We rode through heavy duty wine country and went by lots of wine making chateau like this one.
Horsies
Passed through yet another medieval gate for our lunch stop. Europe must have been an awfully dangerous place back then!
Here's our street in Carcassonne, where we are staying in a sweet little AirBnB in an old market stall.
Our first view of Carcassonne's spectacular castle and fortified really old City (we are in the just old City at the base of the hill). The yellow paint is an art installation to celebrate an anniversary of Carcassonne as a UNESCO world heritage site.
We spend the afternoon doing business - laundry, shopping, recalculating our route - and had take-out pizza from Bar a Vivres for dinner.
After dinner we took a walk down to the old bridge to see the Castle lit up at night.
