We are back in the boonies making our last northward push before turning towards Germany.
Some picnic shopping in the morning give me an opportunity too snap some supermarket photos for our fan. They actually have Dijonaise!
A wide selection of chocolate-based cereal.
French BLL!
Once out of Dijon, it’s basically 58 miles of this. We go over 45 miles before we even see a town!
Entertainment is scarce…
We arrive in Chatillon-sur-Seine and Eric heads off to the main sight - the antiquities museum, with a small collection of Roman and Gallo-Celtic doodads.
This five foot tall bronze urn is the town’s claim to fame, and it’s pretty amazing and pristine.
While I have a wander around town. As the name implies, the Seine (of Paris fame) starts somewhere around here
Some funky bits…
Pretty good on the picturesque alleys scale
I hike up to St Vorles
With its 10th century crypt
Back to the salt mines… dinner. Salads all round then Eric takes advantage of the ‘build your own’ and amazes the locals with the meat lovers - lardons, jambon and chorizo.
And a tasty lasagna for me.
