I had trouble motivating this morning and the dark overcast skies didn't help. Having no other option, I left the hotel, biked 200 yards, then hit a street that was *way* to steep to bike up. Off to a good start! Luckily it was short and led to a nice quiet road that climbed above the valley between Chambery and Grenoble. Today is Sunday and apparently that means it's time for the locals to break out their bikes and hit the road - there were far more cyclists on the road than cars!
The route ran above the valley which gave me great views in every direction.
Anyone who wasn't out cycling was apparently parapenting. At one point there must have been 30 of them in the air.
Anyone have a good collective noun for parapenters?
The weather started to clear up as I arrived in Grenoble, but by the time I stretched and showered a thunderstorm rolled in. I hope it clears up soon so I can see the city...
Well, at least it stopped raining so I got a look at the cloud-draped mountains surrounding the city.
Dinner was not worth a photo, nor what I paid for it.
