July and August are party time in Germany. We hit two in a row - Promenadefesten in Uberlingen and Rutenfest in Ravensburg. Here’s the evidence.
The crowd at Rutenfest. We haven’t seen a goof festival since Italy so are excited for summer fest season in Germany. After a sample of two, here’s the definitive guide to key aspects of a german festival:
Decorating the town
Flag waving
Drumming and marching
Pork. Here racks of schwein are roasting
Adults drinking wine from tower-shaped holders
Kids drinking beer
