Burgundy and more Rhone valley
It’s a beautiful day, and the ride is gorgeous, through hills and valleys. We understand where the vertical patchwork hills of Chagall come from.
Still farmland, but lusher - and nice towns every 3-5 miles.

Beaune’s main attraction is its ancient hospital
With its particolored roof
Notre Dame
And a few other streetscapes
The narrowest house in Beaune.

And this is the 1994 locked away for a century.
Wine degustation - they even have those little tin tasting cups.
For dinner we decide to go with the Burgundian place - an interesting appetizer for me. Poached eggs in Burgundy sauce.
And a slightly different take on the goat cheese salad for E
Steak frite for E
Bouef bourgingon (which I don’t know how to spell). Turns out they don’t use Julia’s method.
Apple raspberry tart to finish.
