61 miles and climb after climb after climb. Not our longest bike ride ever, but probably our toughest day ride.
Happily for us, and sadly for our hotel, they had an all you can eat buffet breakfast, so we did. I mean when else in life can you eat bread, cheese, juice, yogurt, and two croissants and still be hungry for lunch?
Finally, with one last look back at Rocamadour, we headed out for what we knew would be a rough day.
Very few pictures from the road - I was mostly concentrating on covering the miles and keeping a POSITIVE ATTITUDE!
But here are some nice horsies
And cows. And lurking thunderstorms. And my thumb.
That's it! We skirted the thunderstorm, but got rained on twice, including during last 10 minutes into the city. We pulled up at Hotel le Square just short of seven hours in the saddle.
Vietnamese (?) or maybe Chinese (?) food at Let Saigon. Whatever. It was spicy, and plentiful, and delicious!
Then a 30-second wander around town and back to crash.
Aurillac doesn't seem to have much going for it, but apparently it's the leading production center for French umbrellas. Hence the street art.
