Happy Mother's Day Sue and Marion!
Congratulations Netta from Israel!
70 miles.
We said goodbye to the Lot River Valley today and hello to the Dordogne.
It was a pretty rough ride today. 70 hilly miles, including two big climbs, innumerable small climbs, three episodes of soaking rain, and temperatures in the 40s and 50s. I guess the fantastic weather we had on our last bike trip is waiting to make an appearance this time.
Passed one very cute town
If only...
Pulled into Montpazier and our lodging, Chez Edell, just before 4, after just over 7 hours in the (soggy) saddle.
As usual, we cleaned up and took a spin around town. This is yet another Bastide town from the 13th century (founded in 1285).
This one looks really really old. Here a few pictures of the central square. Boston folks, you think you have an old house to deal with?!
Refurbished covered market
Eric studies the stocks? The ye olde wine bar?
We attempted to eat not French food, but we're stymied by the fact that there was only one restaurant in town open, Bistro 2, and it's French!
Tomorrow - more rain, but a much shorter ride!
