Via the Dentelles. A gorgeous and cyclist mecca route.
After a night in VLR we realize that we’ve entered Tour de France worship territory. This is the starting point for the notorious mountain stage.
The holy grail - Mt. Ventoux - has finally emerged from the clouds for our hill stage day
The whole time in Vaison, we wondered who the hordes of German, Swiss and Dutch cyclists were. Turns out they are here to male their own Tour-like assault on Mt. Ventoux.
Passed by the peleton on the first hill leaving town!
At the top of a long climb (during which I am passed by an 80 year old Swiss woman cyclist) we find… Les Dentelles
Suzette (didn’t stop for crepes)
A nice town as we cross back over the Rhone
St. Martin has a fabulous one-lane bridge into town, and the usual traffic shenanigans to watch.
