Well guess what?!? We woke up and it was raining. We set off on our route anyway, and biked through some of the heaviest rain we've had yet. Cold, wet, and realizing that we were looking at another 24 miles of busy road with industrial scenery, we gave up in Savona and took the train to Genoa.
Luckily, Savona is on the commuter rail, so in an hour we were in central Genoa, and 30 minutes later, after a detour through the red light district, we were at our enormous, centrally located, Air BnB.
That's it! I will do a different post about the city of Genoa, and all we did tonight was eat some pizza at the local restaurant (actually, we did wander around looking at a long list of restaurants I had noted, to discover that they were all closed on Monday!)
To make this post a wee bit less boring, here are a couple of photos from San Remo. These prove that it's not just America where everything is getting larger.
