In which we discover that not all of Italy is charming and scenic.
We started the morning by heading back to the Certosa (no pix allowed, Google Certosa di Pavia), followed by picking up our bikes and bags.
Discovered Eric has a flat (front tire) AND a bent fork. Luckily the tiny town has a bike store. We finally hit the road at 1230 for an unexpectedly long ride.
Went over this interesting floating bridge - basically a bunch of boats lashed together with planks over them.
And found this freshly paved dream road. They even remembered to paint the stripes!
Michelin guides us to a cute little place where we order the antipasti special. Oops. That’s vitello tonatto (cold veal slathered with dijonaise), olive flavored cream cheese and “Russian Salad” (potato salad with mayo and pimentos)
Redeemed by this AMAZING agnolotti (I know, it looks like ravioli but I guess in Piedmont it’s agnolotti) with beefy sauce. We each get one. No sharing.
Rabbit and roast peppers for Eric (and a Seinfeldesque insalate grande for me.)
