We start the morning by crossing the border to Germany. Our third country – #2 for SP.

And soon we come across this new road sign - so we turn left and find…

What!? A bike path-side beer garden? Germany truly is heaven on Earth!
And we aren’t the only ones pulled over for a break…
And a few nice villages as well. Unfortunately, we’re pretty beat by the time we get to Pirmasens, so we rest.
Dinner in our hotel beer garden – Eric has his first schnitzel (mit paprika) of the trip. From here on out you can plan for schnitzel to replace duck breast.
And, egads, vegetarian food. Aubergine schnitzel with creamy cream sauce and logs of fun tater tot thingies. Germany may not go my way foodwise…
But SP chose wisely - pork medallions wrapped in bacon with mustard sauce and rosti. Yum!
