I know, I know, I did one of these during the last trip. But there are just so many completely egregious examples of Italian parking jobs that I couldn't stop taking photos. And once I started taking the photos I couldn't not share them with you!
One problem is that cars are getting bigger here.
Five years ago, the Micra and the Panda were the standard on the road, but Italians seem to have adopted the American habit of upsizing their cars, without upsizing their infrastructure or changing their driving and parking habits, with predictable results.

And the other thing is that Italians just can't park! (Sorry Mom, but it's true.) One of my favorite parking moves is the "front end's in, eh, good enough"
There's also the "what?! This is a pedestrian zone/sidewalk/crosswalk/piazza? Looks like a parking spot to me!"
They can't even be bothered to park the tiny Smart car legally!
But at the end of the day, here's why it doesn't matter. Look at the size of their cars (at least some of them.)
